Introduction
Mesquita Do Porto ("we", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the Mesquita Do Porto mobile app ("the app") collects, how we use it and your rights under European data protection law (GDPR).
Data we collect
The app is designed to work without any user account and with the least possible data. All data stays on your device, except as noted below.
Data stored locally
- User preferences (language, theme, calculation method).
- Bookmarks, notes, Quran reading progress and Khatma.
- Approximate location (only when auto-detect is enabled — used solely for Qibla and times outside the Porto zone).
- App content and calendar saved for offline use.
Data in transit
- Official prayer calendar — loaded anonymously from the mosque's servers.
- Push notifications — anonymous identifier, no personal data attached.
- Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports — off by default, only enabled with your explicit consent.
Permissions
The app requests only strictly necessary permissions: notifications (Adhan), location (Qibla and calculation), sensors (compass). You can revoke any of them at any time in your device settings.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, portability and objection. Since there is no user account, deletion is achieved by uninstalling the app or clearing its data in your device settings.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date of the latest revision is shown at the top. Significant changes will be announced in-app.
